LVELIHOOD IMPROVEMENT AND ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
Wshirika farmers Association training the farmers in Maliba Sub County Kasese district in livelihood improvement and economic empowerment through small livestock rearing. This training was targeting over 300 farmers in the sub-county.
Other economic empowerment and livelihood improvement activities include but not limited to bee keeping, piggery, poultry and goat rearing. Washirika farmers Association supports local communities enterprise on a co-funding approach and trains the farmers in bee keeping and honey production.








HEALTH AND SANITATION
Towards the response to COVIP 19 Pandemic, washirika farmers association Supports the smallolder farming communities with washing materials and awareness on the prevention of COVID 19 spread
Smallholder farmers of the community in Kyondo Sub County during the training on how to make and use a tip tap and these trainings included how to make liquid soaps using the local materials.
CONSERVATION OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
With support from RCA-The Association of Rwenzori Community, Washirika farmers Association supported farmers establish community nursery beds and mobilizing the communities to plant trees for conservation and livelihood improvement. This has enhanced the conservation of the environment and protection of the natural resources. Efforts to have botanical gardens in the communities to reduce pressure on the protected areas is in place.
Training farmers on preparation of organic pesticides and organic fertilizers for their vegetable kitchen gardens for sustainable food systems and Household improved nutrition.
